New Ground, New Song

It is easy to reflect on the South as a monolith of bias against marginalized groups. Join us as we embrace not only a complicated history, but also the freedom tradition of the South and what it can teach us now as we build equity and freedom in our own communities today. Rev. Thomas Phillips, Emily Stoper, Jane Facente, Dick Bailey, Susan Keiter with music, and others join us on the worship team.

Our guest Rev. Thom (he/his) retired after 30 years at Veterans Affairs as Chief Chaplain/ACPE Certified Educator and 9 years at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham as CPE Supervisor. He is currently a hospice chaplain in Defuniak Springs, Florida. Married with four adult children, three grandchildren, and one set of twins on the way in June, Rev. Thom spends his spare time in Choctawatchee Bay fishing and refereeing youth soccer.
