2021 One-Day In-Person Retreat

As we gradually emerge from the pandemic, this year’s free retreat will be held in person at the UU Congregation of Marin in San Rafael on June 26 from 10 AM to 4 PM.  The theme is A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  There will be a solstice ritual led by the Circle of Oak, a crafts project, singing, yoga, a walking meditation, several breakout discussion groups, a Nonviolent Communication session, and more.  If you are 16 or older and identify as female or gender non-binary, you are invited.  Babies of any gender under 1 year of age are also welcome.  Care will be taken to ensure COVID safety. You must be fully vaccinated to attend.

2020 Virtual Retreat

In 2020 the women’s retreat was on Zoom because of the coronavirus pandemic.  The program included singing and dancing, small group chats, group storytelling, making art, a poetry workshop, and an anti-racism workshop – all between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday.

Traditional Retreats

When there is no pandemic, the retreat is at Redwood Glen Camp and Conference Center in Loma Mar, CA on the third weekend in July.  This is a weekend to sing, dance, meditate, write, draw, read, talk, swim in the pool, play ping pong, hike among towering redwoods, walk the labyrinth, lounge on the porch or do just what your spirit needs.  There are also opportunities for worship, spiritual practices, and other group experiences. Accommodations are comfortable and accessible.  Efforts are made to keep the cost affordable.  This is a weekend you won’t want to miss.

If you have questions, or are interested in helping organize the Women’s Retreat, send an email to womensretreat@uuoakland.org.

Whether under the redwoods or on a Zoom call, the Women’s Retreat is always a joyous occasion!
