Week of 1-2-20 New Announcements and Events

  • Important Date Change for January Only: First Sundays for Racial Justice will be held on the Second Sunday (Jan. 12th). This is to hold with the tradition of holding the Tolling of the Bells Service on the First Sunday of the New Year. In February, we will resume with our Normal First Sundays Schedule.
  • Thanks for making “The Beautiful Pillow Show Two” a success! Thanks to the generosity of our congregation, we raised over $2000 to give to the homeless who come by the church asking for help. It’s not a lot of money, but it will go a long way. Thank you to all the bidders. You made every stitch worth it. Corless.
  • Sat., Jan. 4, New Year Church Clean Up. 10 AM-Noon. Start the year off with a blessing.  Bring cleaning supplies and lunch.  We’ll have a list of tasks from our building manager, Stefan.  Take a shine to church!  Contact Ron (ronwei@yahoo.com) or Bill (bill_blakely@comcast.net) for info.  We’ll enjoy a group lunch afterward;  bring yours.
  • Sunday, Jan. 5, First Sunday Poetry, “Kindness Spoken Here,” 9:30 AM, 3rd Floor Library. The theme for January is “Cats.” Come celebrate our mysterious companions in verse. “When the cat waits in the path-hedge, / no cell of her body is not waiting. / This is how she is able so completely to disappear.” Contact Ron for more info (ronwei@yahoo.com)
