Forming A Committee on Right Relations- Would you, or someone you know, be great for this committee? The Board of Trustees is seeking church members to form a Committee on Right Relations that would oversee a Conflict Resolution Policy and Process. Conflicts arise, and we often struggle with how to manage them. We believe that most conflicts can and will be resolved, and that a Committee on Right Relations can guide our church community towards a healthy approach to the management, resolution and transformation of conflict.

Questions? Please contact your Board board@uuoakland.org.

Church Communications Report – from Committee on Shared Ministry. At the August Board meeting the Committee on Shared Ministry (CoSM) presented their report on Church Communication Effectiveness. The Board accepted the report and felt that it was important to disseminate it to congregants. We think that this assessment, and the actions that are taken to implement its recommendations will enable First Unitarian to become an even better functioning program church. You may access the report by clicking on this link: https://uuoakland.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/CoSM-Comms-Assessment-8.27.18.docx

Get Your Money NOW! Here at First Unitarian Church of Oakland, we nurture the spiritual needs of our liberal religious community. And, we need your help to look after the business side of things that keeps our church going. If you are involved in helping to organize any event at the church and  you have spent your own money on a pre-approved expense, please know that the reimbursement request must be submitted to the church office as soon as possible (and no later than 8 days into the following month.) Here is the link to the new reimbursement form, which can be found on our website. This is a slightly different process than has been used in the past and we want to ensure that the transition goes as smoothly as possible.
