Week of 10-17-19 New Announcements and Events

Justice Council Petition Signing This Sunday: Reinstate Medi-Cal for People Being Released from County Jail. The Justice Council is circulating a petition with other communities of faith. The petition asks the Board of Supervisors to require the sheriff’s department to re-instate Medical-Cal for people leaving the county jail. Medi-Cal is taken away when someone is incarcerated, and the Alameda County Sheriff does not reinstate benefits before a person’s release. This means people are without medication, and cannot go to medical and re-entry program appointments. Look for the petition at the Justice Council table this Sunday. Questions? Contact Micky.

The Disability Affinity Group will not meet this month due to the Connections Fair. We will resume meeting n ext month.
