Justice Council Petition Signing This Sunday: Reinstate Medi-Cal for People Being Released from County Jail. The Justice Council is circulating a petition with other communities of faith. The petition asks the Board of Supervisors to require the sheriff’s department to re-instate Medical-Cal for people leaving the county jail. Medi-Cal is taken away when someone is incarcerated, and the Alameda County Sheriff does not reinstate benefits before a person’s release. This means people are without medication, and cannot go to medical and re-entry program appointments. Look for the petition at the Justice Council table this Sunday. Questions? Contact Micky.

Sun., Oct 27, Community Potluck – right after worship in Wendte. Please join in community for our monthly meal together. Bring a dish to serve 6 or more; you may leave it in the kitchen before worship with any serving instructions. As we are close to Halloween or “All Hallows Eve” (from which it is derived), we might bring a dish to honor our link with the departed. For non-cooks, store bought Lasagna or packaged salads are good choices. Contact Ron with questions
