Reminder Board Meeting this Sunday, 9-22, after Service

Have you wanted to attend a Board meeting but it’s not convenient to go out to one more meeting on a weekday night?  Well, now your Board of Trustees has brought the meeting to you!  Every other month the Board meeting will be held at church on a Sunday following the service.  This change in day and time is in the spirit of providing greater accessibility, transparency and engagement.

September’s Board meeting is this Sunday, 9-22, from 12:00 to 2:30PM in the Program Room on the 2nd Floor.  The meeting will open with an “Open Comments” period of 20 minutes for anyone who may wish to speak. As the 4th Sunday is also the monthly potluck starting off this Sunday, please feel free to bring your plate upstairs at 12:00, or quietly enter after eating and socializing in Wendte Hall.

Sharing in the Ministry

Shared ministry signifies the teamwork between leaders and congregants at every level. Here are a few ways that you can move forward to share the work.

  • Worship associates: Are you interested in partnering with worship leaders to create Sunday experiences of Unitarian Universalism? Contact Pastor Theresa at revsoto@uuoakland.org to indicate your interest and learn about next steps.

Safety team: We are creating a safety plan for the congregation that requires some support and participation. Would you like to learn more? Please ask your questions at revsoto@uuoakland.org.

Connection Fair 2019

Sometimes people call a gathering of opportunities to serve a volunteer fair. In our case, we will be exploring opportunities in the congregation to connect with our shared mission and use our talents to do the work of the community; hence the name Connection Fair. What are you good at? What brings you joy? Come to the Connection Fair on Sunday, October 20. There is an opportunity waiting just for you.
