Fri., Sept. 6, Dayna Kurtz Concert & Fundraiser for the New Orleans Abortion Fund, 7:30 p.m., Wendte Hall
Dayna Kurtz (a beautiful singer/songwriter from New Orleans in a rare Bay Area performance) and Vicki Randle (a local superstar who’s toured with George Benson, Dr. John and others and was a member of the Tonight Show band for 20 years) present a concert in support of the New Orleans Abortion Fund, which supports women from all over the state in receiving services from one of the 3 remaining facilities in Louisiana. These two rarely get to perform together and the evening promises to be a creative mash-up of their two styles of folk, rock, jazz and everything in between.
Come join us for some fun in support of a great cause! For more info: sharonc.dolan@gmail.com.
Joyful Noise is the church group sponsoring this UTunes Coffeehouse Special Benefit Concert.

Board of Trustee’s Report on Transition to Policy Governance

Since the Board approval of our policy governance structure in February we have done the following:

Operations team
An Operations Team was established in April and has met twice a month since then. The operations team was formed to oversee the day-to-day operations of the church. This transitional team has included the parish minister, the church administrator, and one lay member of the Board of Trustees. The team discusses the following areas at each of its meetings:
• Practices – Shared Ministry
• People and Personnel
• Asset Management
• Financial Management

Program Council
The Program Council, consisting of the programs, ministries, and committees of the church, has met twice since February, and will be meeting on a quarterly basis. The next meeting is on September 15.  The Program Council is still in the process of discussing its role and functions. Topics at Council meetings have included:  Discussion of the JTW assessment and what this means for each program as well as the church. The Council also crafted the Church calendar for the 2019 – 2020 year.
