From Mastery to Mystery

In this service, guest Rev. Sean Parker Dennison will encourage us to explore the possibilities that open when we let go of the pressure to be experts, proving our mastery of one thing or everything. What possibilities appear when we relax into appreciating a little bit of uncertainty and the delight of a good mystery?

Rev. Sean has served the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ashland, OR, since 2017, first as a developmental minister and now as their settled minister. He studied as Starr King and attended First Unitarian Oakland during seminary and again when he served as minister-in-residence at Starr King on sabbatical. He has served on the Starr King Board of Trustees, as well as in a variety of leadership positions in the UU Ministers Association. He co-founded TRUUsT, an organization of transgender and nonbinary religious professionals. He is the author of Breaking and Blessing the 2020 InSpirit collection. He is also an artist, parent, grandparent, and the partner of Rev. Theresa Soto, our lead minister.
