Sunday, Jan. 6 – First Sunday Poetry Circle, “Kindness Spoken Here.” Please join poetry lovers (and skeptics!) for the theme of “Giving Birth.” We’ll explore a poem by someone we’ve never heard of (“With Child” by Genevieve Taggard) and another by a poet we’re all familiar with (“Morning Song” by Sylvia Plath). Sun. Jan 19, 2019 Women’s March Oakland 10 AM. All self-identified women and allies are encouraged to march with our new Side With Love banner. We’ll meet at church for 8AM breakfast and grounding circle, then walk to the start of the March at Lake Merritt; or walk to Frank Ogawa Plaza where March culminates. Sat., January 26, Dumpling Making for Lunar New Year, 5 PM – 8 PM, Wendte Hall. Come shape, fold, and taste yummy dumplings on the Saturday night before our second annual Lunar New Year worship service!
