Among the sources of our living tradition are the spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature. In the depths of the winter, we recognize the holy in darkness and in what promises to emerge from its shimmering depths. What can the winter solstice teach us about living in times that can sometimes feel bleak with personal and communal suffering? In this multigenerational worship service, we welcome the return of the sun. Our celebration culminates in the children searching the sanctuary for suns. Joyful Noise opens the service and Susan Keiter directs the UUOakland Pop-Up Choir. This is a Multigenerational Service.
