Courage to Listen

Listening for stories is something more acute than listening to them. Writer Eudora Welty supposes that it’s an early form of participation in what goes on. Listening children know stories are there. When their elders sit and begin, children are just waiting and hoping for one to come out, like a mouse from its hole. This service invites us to examine the power of listening both in our individual lives and the life of our community; this guide for reflection will be one of the worship elements. Please join Rev. Theresa Soto and worship associate Debby Kaplan this Sunday.

Embracing Meditation
A time to share what you’re thinking of with care, embracing meditation will be part of the live Zoom worship at 10:30 AM (see above). If you are unable to join worship but would like to include names or words, please feel free to email Pastor Theresa or text them at 510-473-7686 before 7 PM Saturday, with EMBRACING MEDITATION in the subject line. Let’s gather for coffee and conversation following worship service! You bring your drink or snack and stay on Zoom.
