Invitation to the Installation of Rev. Theresa I. Soto

“The World’s on Fire (and We Still Fall in Love)”

Sunday, April 25, 4:00 PM

Please join First Unitarian Church of Oakland in a service of installation as the congregation acts formally to enter into shared ministry with our called minister, the Rev. Theresa I. Soto! We will gather in a unique virtual event that combines the installation ritual and community celebration into one experience, where we will express and strengthen our commitments to each other while sharing food and treats.

Installations mark the completion of the ministerial search process and usually take place shortly after a new minister’s arrival to a new church. Since the congregation’s vote to call Rev. Soto, we have adapted together to the pandemic and are grateful to emerge ready to continue building a new future. We look forward to gathering to recognize that we have come through this together, on a strong foundation to fulfill promises to each other, to continue to grow in community, and to live our faith in the world.

RSVP. Please complete the reply card so we can provide you with virtual meeting details and prepare for your participation. We would like to hear from you ideally by April 20.

Whether or not you can join in, please take a moment to visit our greeting board and post a note of blessing, memory, or hope on this celebratory occasion!

Here’s a coloring sheet of the church building. Pastor Theresa would love it if we could color this and hang it in our Zoom space for the installation. Next week, we will share another design. Need to receive a coloring sheet in the mail? Write to office@uuoakland.org.
