Beloved Conversations

Beloved Conversations is Back!

Have you wanted to engage with the church’s racial justice work in a heartfelt and soul-stretching way? Consider applying to be part of the next round of Beloved Conversations, a small group which explores the spiritual and intellectual effects of racism in our lives. Laila Ibrahim and Amanda Smith will be co-facilitators. This is our main racial justice curriculum and we would love for everyone in the church to enjoy and grow through it.

If you cannot attend everything, you can still be involved! See below for volunteer opportunities.

The weekend retreat will be Friday night March 2nd and all day Saturday, March 3, at the First Unitarian Church of Oakland. To cover expenses (including meals and program costs), the total cost is $70. Scholarships will be available; no one turned away for lack of funds.

Class participation includes committing to:
Friday night: March 2, dinner 5:45 pm, program 7-9 pm
Saturday: March 3, breakfast 8 am, program 9 am-4:30 pm, including lunch
8 Sunday sessions March 11 to May 6 (skipping April 1), after church: 12:15-2:30,
