Marriage Equality Make a Difference, Be the Change

The right to love and to form a family through marriage is a fundamental human right, and was so recognized by the California Supreme Court in 1948.

In 2007: The UU Legislative Ministry-California (UULM-CA) is part of a statewide coalition of churches, faiths, legislators, and individuals that are helping to right a reality for same-sex couples across California. There are currently many exiting opportunities for us and our congregation to make a difference for marriage equality. From personal discussion groups to political advocacy, learn about what's happening in California.

Host Your Own Cottage Conversation

One of the most powerful ways to help our congregation -- and your neighbors and friends -- to get involved, is to share with them some of the personal stories of same-sex couples and families around the state. Our Welcoming Congregation Committee offered two trainings this Spring on how to do this, through the Host a Cottage Conversation program. If you missed the opportunity to be a part of those trainings, the UU legislative Ministry-California (UULM-CA) offers a video and information packet to help you host your own Cottage Conversation.
