Endowing Our Church

Members of First Unitarian have formed an ad hoc committee to investigate ways that they can help provide direction to other church members and friends who might be interested in endowing our church as a beneficiary, now or in the future.

There are many methods to endow the church, including, but not limited to (1) donating depreciated assets in the near future, (2) establishing trusts and annuities and (3) bequesting assets in our wills. Such gifts would be used for the expressed purpose of providing a financial resource to extend or enhance our church's ability to fulfill its mission and purpose into perpetuity.

There are many issues which need resolution before this ad hoc team can proceed, but an endowment program provides an exciting and important opportunity for the growth of our church. The committee consists of the following members: Tom Haw, Diane Schweitzer, and Scott Weiss. Feel free to talk to any of them at any time, keeping in mind there is currently no formal endowment program. However, our church always welcomes any endowed gifts and our association currently has a staff in Boston to answer many of your questions.
